Intro to Ayurveda, a practice of Yoga OFF the Mat

Intro to Ayurveda, a practice of Yoga OFF the Mat

The practice of Ayurveda began about 5,000 years ago in India and is based on the belief that each person is unique and should be treated as such.

Understanding your personal compilation of elements can help you find your ideal diet,  mental triggers, physical elements, your best yoga practices and balance.
When you’re in balance, you naturally desire only that which nourishes you and brings health. You get restful sleep, move around as you should, and feed yourself with positive experiences, tastes, touch, aromas, sounds, and sights. When you slip out of tune with nature, however, you invite imbalance. You may start craving junk food, stop sleeping well, and ignore your need to move and exercise.

Over time, a little imbalance can lead to major imbalance and cause disease.  Click the register button below to get my free webinar, "Intro to Ancient Ayruveda" & Dosha Quiz emailed directly to you.

This quiz will help you discover your own personal body type.  Every person is made up of their own energetic constitution. Therefore, it is important to be aware of your body type and tendencies in order to tailor your yoga practice, diet and lifestyle fit for you YOU. Ayurveda is the perfect compliment to Yoga and inspiration for my monthly healthy living challenges/themes each month.

Yoga Virtual Series - 3 weeks JULY with Journal Challenge

Yoga Virtual Series - 3 weeks JULY with Journal Challenge

Yoga's been around for thousands of years and it's not going anywhere.  It's  a whole body workout that grows at your individual pace, builds muscle strength while simultaneously improving flexibility.  Plus, it's perfect for fixing poor posture, protecting your bones from osteoporosis, and lessening back pain.  Practicing yoga is a way to sweat, burn calories, promote relaxation and a more centered mind overall, all while lowering your cortisol levels (aka your stress hormones) which can cause anxiety.   If you're feeling stiff or stressed, this is the perfect time to learn yoga.

The practice of yoga incorporates mind, body, and spirit for total well-being- such as breath control, meditation, and physical poses.  The practice of yoga has evolved throughout the years.  Many individuals only utilize the practice for the physical benefits.  However, a number of mental and spiritual benefits can also be obtained.

Studies have found that yoga contributes to not only increased strength and flexibility, but also increased mindfulness, emotion regulation, empathy, concentration, and sense of connectedness, among many other benefits.

Like other bodyweight exercises, handstands are easier on your joints than traditional weight training exercises or high-impact plyometrics. Handstands require unmatched levels of full-body tension and the help of dozens of muscle groups. From core and arm strength to wrist and shoulder mobility, handstands do it all.

Join me for my Handstand Workshop this July to build a body that feels better and moves better than you ever imagined. This Handstand Workshop is your chance to get motivated and have FUN while working out.

Better Health & Bragging Rights

How Yoga Heals Webinar - August Happiness Month

How Yoga Heals Webinar - August Happiness Month

Many doctors have begun incorporating yoga into their healing practices.  From neurologists to chiropractic doctors and psychologists, all types of professionals are embracing the healing power that yoga has to offer.
The potential yoga has to serve people is incredible.  My goal is to share with you, and as many people as I can, how attainable and extraordinary the benefits of yoga are.  Read on to learn more about this month's webinar & challenge.

"Put your thoughts to sleep, do not let them cast a shadow over the moon of your heart".  ~Rumi

Step into any yoga studio around the world and you'll find someone in need of healing.  Whether it's from physical pain such as back pain or emotional stress such as sadness yoga has something to offer everyone.  Wounds of grief, disability, emotional trauma, and disease can all be healed with the right practice.

First and foremost, yoga is about self-acceptance.  Yoga teaches you to understand your limitations and how to breath through uncomfortable postures.  Using the breath to get you through a challenging pose translates into using your breath to get you through challenging situations on and off the mat.
Yoga requires you to be in tune with your body, which aids in understanding where in your body that truly needs healing.
Join me for How Yoga Heals Webinar to gain a deeper understanding of how to be receptive of your body's needs and how yoga can aid in the healing process.
Some say without rough patches, we wouldn't be able to truly appreciate the good times.  However, with yoga, you can make those rough patches just a little less rough.
We always have a choice when it comes to difficult situations.  The tough stuff is hard to avoid, but how you react and respond makes all the difference!
Yoga can help in the development of confidence, patience, acceptance - all of which are crucial in addressing adversity.  Yoga helps to recognize the innate strength in all of us, but sometimes we need assistance in noticing it.
During How Yoga Heals webinar, you will gain access to that power through the benefits of yoga.  Whether it be physical, emotional, psychological, mental or  spiritual healing, yoga is an avenue to your best health.
Yoga OFF the Mat:  Join this month's Happiness  or Sleep Challenge
